Embraer E-Jet E2 Family
Embraer

Details
The Embraer E-Jet E2 family (also marketed as E2) is the second generation of the E-Jet series, featuring significant technological improvements over the original E-Jets. The name "E2" stands for "second generation" or "Evolution and Excellence." Launched in 2013, the E2 program incorporates new Pratt & Whitney PW1000G geared turbofan (GTF) engines, fourth-generation full fly-by-wire flight controls, advanced aerodynamics with the highest aspect ratio wings in the regional jet category, and modern avionics. The family delivers 29% better fuel efficiency per seat and 19% lower fuel consumption compared to the first-generation E-Jets, along with 68% noise reduction. The E2 series consists of three variants: E175-E2 (development halted until 2027-2028), E190-E2 (first member, entered service April 2018), and E195-E2 (largest variant, entered service 2019). All E2 variants feature a distinctive 2+2 seating configuration eliminating middle seats, 90% increased baggage capacity, HEPA filtration, and modern passenger amenities. The E2 family has a range capability of up to 3,000 nautical miles and can cover 99.9% of missions up to 150 seats. Embraer markets the E2 as "The Profit Hunter" family for its exceptional economics and operational efficiency.
