Terms of use
Read, link to and quote this site freely. Do not scrape it into a competing database, and do not treat it as an operational source.

The short version
Jetspec is an aircraft reference. You may read it, link to it, and quote figures from it with attribution. You may not copy it wholesale, and you may not use it to fly, dispatch or maintain an aeroplane.
This is not an operational source
Nothing here may be used for flight planning, dispatch, loading, maintenance or any other operational purpose. The authority for those is the aircraft’s own approved flight manual, its weight and balance documentation, and the certificate issued for the individual airframe — none of which this site is.
The figures here are read from public type certificates and manufacturers’ airport-planning manuals, which describe a type as certificated, not the aeroplane in front of you. Two aircraft of the same type routinely differ in weights, seating and equipment, and a document can be superseded between our reading it and your using it.
Accuracy, and what to do about it
The site is offered as it is. Figures are checked against their documents where the provenance work has reached, and the rest are inherited from earlier, less careful years — the About page says exactly how far that has got, and every page marks which of its numbers carry a source.
If you find a figure that is wrong, telling us is the most useful thing you can do. If you have the document that contradicts it, better still: it goes in with the correction.
What you may and may not do with the content
Specification data has its own terms — see the data licence. In short: free for non-commercial use with attribution, and a commercial licence for anything else.
Photographs are not ours to license. Each was published by its photographer under its own terms, and the licence and author are named beneath it. If you want to reuse a photograph, follow that licence, not this page.
Source documents — type certificates, airport-planning manuals — belong to the authorities and manufacturers that issued them. We cite and link them; we do not host or republish them, and neither should you on the strength of anything here.
The API
The public API is offered on the same terms as the site, with a rate limit. Anonymous callers get 100 requests per fifteen minutes; search is tighter. An issued key raises the allowance and identifies the caller.
Do not try to defeat the limit by rotating addresses, and do not use the API to rebuild the database elsewhere. Both are grounds for a block, and the second is a licence breach as well.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Jetspec is provided without warranty and we accept no liability for loss arising from its use. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited — death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Changes, and the law that applies
These terms may change; the date at the top says when they last did. Jetspec is operated from Portugal and Portuguese law applies.
This page is written to be read and understood, not drafted by a lawyer, and it is not legal advice.
