Data licence
The specifications are free to use non-commercially, with attribution. Photographs and the documents behind the figures are not ours to license.

The specification data
The figures, the fields and the way they are organised are Jetspec’s compilation. You may use them free of charge for non-commercial purposes — a personal project, a school or university assignment, research, a forum post, a hobby site — on one condition: say where they came from.
Attribution, in this form:
Data: Jetspec (jetspec.io), from the type certificates and airport-planning documents cited there.
The second half of that sentence matters as much as the first. The value here is not that we hold a number — it is that the number can be traced to the document that issued it, and an attribution that drops the trail passes on the figure without the thing that makes it worth having.
What counts as commercial
Using the data in a product or service you charge for, in advertising, or to build or improve a database you sell or offer commercially. Training a model on it for a commercial product is commercial use.
If that is you, get in touch — a commercial licence exists to be granted, and the API is how it is delivered. Asking first is cheaper for both of us than being blocked later.
Bulk copying
Non-commercial use does not include taking the database wholesale: systematically extracting a substantial part of it, by scraping or through the API, to reconstitute it somewhere else. In the EU that is separately protected by the database right, and in any case it is the one thing this project cannot afford to allow — the compilation is the work.
Quote a figure. Quote a hundred. Do not take the set.
Photographs are not ours to license
Every photograph came from its photographer under its own licence — public domain, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA — and more than half are share-alike. Each is credited beneath it with its author, its licence and a link to the original.
If you want to reuse one, follow that licence, not this page. Nothing here grants you any right over a photograph, and nothing here could.
Source documents are not ours either
Type certificate data sheets, airport-planning manuals and the rest belong to the authorities and manufacturers that issued them — EASA, the FAA, AR IAC, Boeing, Airbus and others. We read them, cite them by number, revision, section and page, and link to where they are published. We do not host them or reproduce them verbatim, and this licence gives you no right to do so.
A figure is a fact. The document is somebody’s publication. The difference is the whole reason this site can exist.
If something here is wrong
If you believe a figure, a photograph or a citation is used wrongly, tell us through the contact form on the About page and it will be looked at. A mistaken attribution is a bug like any other, and gets fixed like one.
This page is written to be read and understood, not drafted by a lawyer, and it is not legal advice.
