About
The Embraer E195-E2 is the largest member of the E-Jet E2 family and represents Embraer's flagship regional jet. First flown on March 28, 2017, and entering service with Azul Brazilian Airlines in September 2019, the E195-E2 offers exceptional economics for airlines operating high-frequency routes. The aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW1900G geared turbofan engines, the same powerplant as the E190-E2, each delivering 22,000 lbf of thrust. At 41.50 meters in length, the E195-E2 features three additional seat rows compared to the first-generation E195, enabling maximum capacity of 146 passengers (typically configured for 132 in a two-class layout). The E195-E2 incorporates the same advanced high aspect ratio wing as the E190-E2, with a 35.10-meter wingspan, delivering the highest aspect ratio of any commercial airliner. This aerodynamic efficiency, combined with the GTF engines and fourth-generation fly-by-wire controls, achieves remarkable performance: 29% lower fuel consumption per seat compared to first-generation E-Jets, 25.4% reduction in fuel burn, 24.5% lower emissions, and 65% noise reduction. The aircraft offers a range of up to 3,700 km and can operate from shorter runways while maintaining the signature E2 passenger experience with 2+2 seating (no middle seats), 90% increased baggage capacity, HEPA filtration, Wi-Fi, and modern amenities. Embraer markets the E195-E2 as "The Profit Hunter" for its exceptional seat-mile costs and revenue potential.
