Details
The DC-6 is the pressurised DC-4, stretched and given more power, and it was the aeroplane that took the transatlantic and transcontinental business away from the flying boat. It came in three forms: the original domestic DC-6, the convertible DC-6A freighter, and the stretched DC-6B, widely held to be the last word in piston airliners.
