Airbus A310

The Airbus A310 is a shortened A300 with a new, smaller wing and the first two-crew flight deck on a widebody. Seven metres shorter than the A300 and carrying about seventy fewer passengers, it was built for thinner long routes, and it was among the first twins cleared for ETOPS across the Atlantic. Its cockpit is the one the A300-600 then adopted and the ancestor of the A330's. Cruise speed, range, ceiling and climb rate are EUROCONTROL's figures for the A310 type code rather than a certificate's: a type certificate states limits and weights, not cruise performance, and the source does not distinguish sub-variants.
