About
The Ilyushin IL-114T is the dedicated cargo transport variant of the IL-114 family. First flown on September 14, 1996, the IL-114T features a large cargo door on the starboard side measuring 3.25 x 1.72 meters, optimized for freight operations. With a payload capacity of nearly 6 tonnes, the aircraft is designed for regional cargo routes and can operate from unprepared runways. The IL-114T retains the twin Klimov TV7-117 turboprop engines of the passenger variants but features a reinforced cargo floor and dedicated freight handling systems. A modernized version, the IL-114-300T, has been proposed featuring the updated TV7-117ST engines and modern avionics from the IL-114-300 passenger variant. The IL-114T serves niche cargo markets in Russia and CIS countries where its combination of payload, range, and rough field capability provides operational advantages.
