About
The Fokker 60 Utility is a stretched military transport variant of the Fokker 50, developed specifically for the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). Introduced in 1996, the Fokker 60 features a 1.62-meter fuselage extension (1.02m forward, 0.80m aft of wing) bringing the total length to 26.87 meters. It is equipped with more powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127B engines and features a large cargo door on the right side behind the cockpit for loading equipment and cargo. The aircraft was designed for tactical transport operations, capable of carrying equipment, soldiers, and conducting paradrop operations. Only four examples were ever built, all delivered to the RNLAF 334 Squadron at Eindhoven. Two were later converted to maritime patrol aircraft. The Fokker 60 is a stretched version of the Fokker 50.
