About
The Embraer ERJ-145 is the original and most successful member of the ERJ family, seating 50 passengers. First flown in 1995 and entering service in 1996 with Continental Express, the ERJ-145 revolutionized regional aviation by offering jet performance on routes previously served by turboprops. The aircraft features a distinctive T-tail configuration with two Rolls-Royce AE 3007A turbofan engines mounted on the rear fuselage, derived from the earlier EMB-120 Brasilia turboprop. Available in several variants including the standard ERJ-145ER, the long-range ERJ-145LR, and the extended-range ERJ-145XR with increased fuel capacity. The ERJ-145 became extremely popular with regional airlines worldwide, particularly in North America, and served as the launching point for Embraer's highly successful regional jet program. With over 900 aircraft delivered, it remains one of the best-selling 50-seat regional jets in aviation history.
