About
The Embraer ERJ-135 is the shortest member of the ERJ family, seating 37 passengers. Developed as a shortened variant of the ERJ-145, the ERJ-135 features a fuselage reduced by 3.54 meters. First delivered in 1999, it was designed to serve thinner routes and replace aging 30-40 seat turboprops with jet service. The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce AE 3007A turbofan engines mounted on the rear fuselage. Available in two main variants: the ERJ-135ER (standard range) with AE 3007A3 engines, and the ERJ-135LR (long range) with more powerful AE 3007A4 engines providing increased range. The ERJ-135 also served as the basis for business jet variants (Legacy 600) and military applications. Known for its reliability and passenger comfort compared to turboprops, the ERJ-135 served numerous regional carriers worldwide.
