Bombardier CRJ-440

About
The Bombardier CRJ-440 is a modified version of the CRJ-200 with reduced seating capacity to 44 passengers. Created specifically for the U.S. market to comply with scope clause restrictions in pilot union contracts, which limited the size of regional jets that could be operated by major airlines regional partners. Operationally identical to the CRJ-200 with the same weights, thrust, and performance, the CRJ-440 has a closet installed where six seats would normally be located. It serves primarily with U.S. regional carriers operating for major airlines. The designation "440" derives from its 44-seat configuration.
