About

The Bombardier CRJ-100 is the original variant of the CRJ family, first delivered in 1992. Developed from the Canadair Challenger business jet, it was designed to provide jet service on regional routes with superior performance compared to turboprops. The CRJ-100 seats 50 passengers and features two General Electric CF34-3A1 turbofan engines. It pioneered the modern 50-seat regional jet category and established the foundation for the successful CRJ family. The variant was replaced in production by the improved CRJ-200 in 1995, but continued to serve with various airlines for many years.
