Boeing 737 Classic

The Boeing 737 Classic series (1984-2000) introduced CFM56 turbofan engines and modernized systems to the 737 family. Comprising the -300, -400, and -500 variants, the Classic series delivered 1,988 aircraft and successfully competed against the emerging Airbus A320. These aircraft offered 25% better fuel efficiency than the Original series while maintaining high commonality.
