About
The BAC One-Eleven Series 300 is an enhanced variant introduced in 1965 offering increased range through additional fuel capacity. With the same airframe dimensions as the Series 200, the Series 300 featured more powerful Rolls-Royce Spey 511-14 engines and an additional center section fuel tank. This provided longer range capability making it suitable for routes beyond the Series 200's reach while maintaining the same passenger capacity of 65-89 seats. The Series 300 was popular with airlines requiring extended range on thin routes. Despite its capabilities, only 9 Series 300 aircraft were built as most customers opted for the US-equipped Series 400.
