ATR 42-600

The ATR 42-600 is the latest and most advanced variant of the ATR 42 family, entering service in 2010. It features new PW127M engines, an advanced glass cockpit with five large LCD displays, improved cabin with larger overhead bins and LED lighting, and enhanced environmental performance. The -600 offers improved fuel efficiency (up to 10% better than previous variants), reduced emissions, and lower noise levels. Seating 46-50 passengers in a comfortable 2-2 configuration, the ATR 42-600 maintains the family's excellent short-field performance while offering modern amenities. The variant is particularly popular for island-hopping routes, thin regional services, and operations from challenging airports. As the current production model, the ATR 42-600 continues to compete successfully against regional jets by offering superior fuel efficiency and lower operating costs on shorter routes. The -600 shares maximum commonality with the ATR 72-600.
