About

The Airbus A319-100 is the original production variant of the A319 family, entering service with Swissair in April 1996. Seating 124 to 156 passengers, the A319-100 was developed as a shortened derivative of the A320 to compete directly with the Boeing 737-700. Built exclusively in Hamburg, Germany, the A319-100 combines excellent range (6,850 km) with the operational flexibility of the A320 family. Production of the A319-100 ended in 2019, having delivered over 1,480 aircraft, as Airbus shifted focus to the more efficient A319neo variant. The type remains popular with airlines worldwide and serves as the basis for the ACJ319 corporate jet.
