Vickers VC10 Super

About
The Vickers Super VC10 (Type 1151) is the ultimate development of the VC10 featuring a 3.9-meter fuselage stretch and numerous improvements. Introduced in 1965, it could accommodate 139 passengers in two-class configuration or up to 174 in all-economy layout. The Super VC10 featured a larger wing for improved range, more powerful Rolls-Royce Conway RCo.43 engines (22,500 lbf each), and an additional fuel tank in the fin raising total capacity to 88,032 liters. These enhancements provided significantly increased range and payload capabilities. Popular with BOAC and East African Airways, the Super VC10 represented the pinnacle of British long-haul jet airliner design in the 1960s. Despite its excellent performance and passenger appeal, only 17 Super VC10s were built for commercial service. Many later served with the RAF.
