About
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the first airliner designed in Russia after the Soviet Union, and the first with Western certification: a 103-seat fly-by-wire twinjet on French-Russian PowerJet SaM146 engines, with a cabin five-abreast rather than the four of the regional jets it was aimed at. Its EASA type certificate approves a take-off weight of 49,450 kg with an approved major change, against 45,880 kg without, and has been suspended since 2022. The cruise speed, cruise Mach, range, ceiling, climb rate and take-off distance are EUROCONTROL's figures for the SU95 type code rather than a certificate's: a type certificate states limits and weights, not cruise performance, and the source does not distinguish sub-variants. Thrust per engine is the certificated maximum take-off rating of the SaM146-1S17 from EASA TCDS E.034: 7,684 daN (76.8 kN) at ISA+15.
