PZL M28 05

PZL Mielec

About

The third model on the PZL M28’s type certificate and the one certificated around what it carries rather than what it weighs: EASA.A.058 section C prints no maximum take-off or landing weight for it at all, giving instead a maximum zero-fuel weight of 6,900 kg, a maximum payload of 2,300 kg and a minimum weight for flight of 4,700 kg. A 700 kg hoist among its limitations says what the omission is about — this is the search-and-rescue M28. It shares the family airframe exactly: 13.10 m long, 22.06 m of wing span over 39.72 m², 4.90 m tall, two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65B turboprops, two pilots, and a maximum operating altitude of 7,620 m with crew oxygen or 3,000 m without. Seating depends on the fit: up to 19 passengers in pure passenger transport, 18 in a passenger-cargo mix and 13 in the improved standard.
