Fokker 100
Fokker

Details
The Fokker 100 is a twin-engine regional jet airliner developed by Fokker as a larger, modernized version of the Fokker F28 Fellowship. Introduced in 1988, the Fokker 100 features an 18.83-foot fuselage stretch compared to the F28-4000, increased wingspan by 9.8 feet, and is powered by fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Tay high-bypass turbofan engines with thrust reversers. Seating up to 109 passengers in standard configuration, the aircraft incorporated extensive use of composite materials, improved aerodynamics with extended leading and trailing edge wing designs, larger ailerons, new flaps, strengthened landing gear with improved wheels and brakes, and a 4.6-foot increase in horizontal stabilizer span. The Fokker 100 was designed for short to medium-haul routes with excellent fuel efficiency and reliability. Production ran from 1986 to 1997 when Fokker went bankrupt, with approximately 283 aircraft delivered worldwide.
