About
The Embraer EMB-120ER (Extended Range) Brasilia is a long-range variant of the standard EMB-120 with increased fuel capacity and higher maximum takeoff weight. The ER variant features additional fuel tanks that increase total fuel capacity, extending the aircraft's range to over 1,400 nautical miles. With a maximum takeoff weight of 11,990 kg (compared to 11,500 kg for the standard variant), the EMB-120ER can carry a full passenger load on longer routes or operate with increased payload. The extended range capability made the EMB-120ER particularly attractive for regional carriers serving routes that exceeded the range of the standard Brasilia. The aircraft maintained the same reliable PW118/PW118A turboprop engines and 30-passenger cabin configuration while offering improved operational flexibility. The ER variant was certified alongside the standard model and became popular with airlines requiring longer-range regional service.
