Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China

About
The COMAC C919 is a narrow-body twinjet airliner developed by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC). Designed to compete with the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 series, the C919 represents China's ambition to break into the global mainline commercial aircraft market. First flown in 2017 and entering service in 2023 with China Eastern Airlines, it features a supercritical wing, modern fly-by-wire flight controls, and is powered by CFM International LEAP-1C turbofan engines. The aircraft seats 158-192 passengers in various configurations and incorporates technologies from international suppliers while maintaining Chinese design and assembly. The C919 features approximately 12% composite materials in its construction with the majority using aluminum alloys. As of 2024, the aircraft has entered commercial service with multiple Chinese carriers with hundreds of orders.
