Boeing 747-400ER
Boeing Commercial Airplanes

About
The Boeing 747-400 was the most successful and advanced variant of the classic 747 family. Launched in 1989, it featured winglets, a glass cockpit allowing two-crew operation (eliminating the flight engineer), new engines, increased fuel capacity, and extended range. The 747-400 could fly 13,450 km, opening new non-stop ultra-long-haul routes. It became the dominant long-range aircraft of the 1990s and 2000s, with 694 aircraft delivered including passenger (-400), extended range (-400ER), freighter (-400F), and combi (-400M) variants. The 747-400 represented the pinnacle of four-engine technology before twin-engine aircraft like the 777 took over.
