Beriev Be-103

Beriev Aircraft Company

About

A light twin-engine amphibian that lands on its hull rather than on floats, with the wing roots themselves shaped to plane on the water — a configuration Beriev calls a water-displacing wing and almost nobody else uses. Interstate Aviation Committee type certificate СТ204-Бе-103 gives a maximum take-off mass and a maximum landing mass of 2,330 kg each, applying equally to operation from land and from water, a maximum operating altitude of 3,000 m and a maximum operating speed of 240 km/h indicated. Six people may be aboard including the crew, and the minimum crew is one pilot. Two American Teledyne Continental IO-360ES piston engines drive German MT-Propeller units. The type also holds Brazilian, Chinese and European certificates, listed in its data sheet.
