Antonov An-28

Antonov

About

A high-wing twin turboprop for unprepared strips, designed at Antonov as a turbine replacement for the An-14 and built almost entirely in Poland by WSK PZL-Mielec, where it later became the basis of the M28. Interstate Aviation Committee certificate 11-28 gives a maximum take-off mass of 6,500 kg, a maximum ramp mass of 6,530 kg, a maximum landing mass of 6,500 kg and a maximum payload of 1,750 kg; aircraft modified under service bulletin 28-004-БЭ are certificated 500 kg higher at take-off, at 7,000 kg. Two TVD-10B turboprops drive three-blade AV-24AN propellers. Two pilots carry up to 17 passengers, and the maximum operating altitude depends on what is fitted: 3,000 m without oxygen equipment and 4,200 m with it. Maximum operating speed is 350 km/h indicated.
