Airbus A340-300

The Airbus A340-300 was the original and most successful variant of the A340 family. Making its first flight in October 1991 and entering service in March 1993 with Lufthansa and Air France, the A340-300 became the workhorse of long-haul operations. With 218 aircraft delivered, it represented over half of all A340 production. The A340-300 typically seats 295 passengers and can fly up to 13,500 km (7,300 nm). It was particularly popular with European airlines for intercontinental routes to Asia, Africa, and the Americas. While less fuel-efficient than modern twin-engine aircraft, the A340-300 provided airlines with excellent dispatch reliability and passenger appeal.
