The Airbus A320-200 is the baseline variant of the A320 family and one of the most successful commercial aircraft ever built. The original A320-100 was quickly superseded by the A320-200, which added wingtip fences and increased fuel capacity. First flown in 1987 and entering service with Air France in 1988, it revolutionized commercial aviation as the first airliner with digital fly-by-wire controls. Typically seating 150-180 passengers, the A320-200 has become the workhorse of short-to-medium haul operations worldwide. Over 5,000 A320ceo (current engine option) aircraft have been delivered, with the A320neo (new engine option) continuing the legacy since 2016.
