About
The A300B4 is the B2 with a centre fuel tank and a stronger wing, which bought it range: 62,000 litres against the B2's 44,400, and 23 tonnes more take-off weight. It is the version that sold, and the one American airlines finally bought. Like the B2 it has no airport-planning document of its own, so the masses here are the certificate's and the 44.84 m span and 53.49 m length are the FAA's — which lists the type at 165,000 kg, this aeroplane exactly, and lists the longer A300-600 separately. Cruise speed, range, ceiling and climb rate are EUROCONTROL's figures for the A30B type code rather than a certificate's: a type certificate states limits and weights, not cruise performance, and the source does not distinguish sub-variants.
