Airbus A300B1

The A300B1 is the first Airbus, and the shortest — the certificate's own words are that it "differs essentially from the A300 B2-100 series aircraft in its shorter fuselage". Two were built before Airbus settled on the longer B2, so it is easy to forget it was ever a certified model, but EASA.A.172 still carries its section: 137,000 kg take-off weight on two General Electric CF6-50s, approved on 12 November 1974. Cruise speed, range, ceiling and climb rate are EUROCONTROL's figures for the A30B type code rather than a certificate's: a type certificate states limits and weights, not cruise performance, and the source does not distinguish sub-variants.
